AusHomes was founded in 1996 by Brett Shepherd, a seasoned builder who saw a clear gap in the construction industry for a more trustworthy and transparent home building experience.
After years of witnessing clients become frustrated with hidden costs, vague timelines, and poor communication, Brett set out to create a company that did things differently.
His vision was to offer upfront pricing, honest advice, and a building process that put the client first— laying the foundation for what AusHomes stands for today.
Growth & Network
Since our inception in 1996, AusHomes has grown steadily to become a trusted name in the Australian building industry, completing over 3,500 homes across South-East Queensland.
We’ve operated continuously through major market challenges—including the Global Financial Crisis and the COVID-19 downturn—demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and strong leadership. We’ve also ranked in the HIA Top 100 Builders in Australia for the last 20 consecutive years.
Along the way, we’ve also built a strong network of trusted referrers in the financial sector, including accountants, financial planners, and legal professionals, who consistently refer clients looking to build for investment or long-term value.
